Connect your AI tool

Add Totem to an MCP client and verify that all five tools are available.

Add Totem once to the AI tool that works on your game.

1. Copy the server config

This block is byte-identical to the landing page:

2. Add the API key as a secret header

Create a key in the Totem dashboard. In your client’s MCP server settings, add this header to the totem connection:

Authorization: Bearer ttm_<your-key>

Do not put the key in CLAUDE.md, AGENTS.md, your game archive, or Git.

Claude Code

Open the project MCP settings.
Add the shared Totem server block.
Store the Totem API key in the connection's secure header setting.

3. Verify the connection

A working Totem connection exposes exactly these five tools:

create_game
request_upload
list_games
publish
get_analytics

It also exposes totem://limits, totem://allowed-extensions, and totem://build-guide.

If the tool list is empty, check the URL and Authorization header first.
